This position is responsible for researching, recommending, mentoring internal staff and potentially implementing ETL processes and methodologies using INFORMATICA, DB2 UDB and UNIX along with other and methodologies to support a highly diverse Data Warehouse environment. In addition, duties would also include developing, implementing and maintaining server-based Data Warehouse systems. Development and support is performed on high-end server systems using modern relational and data warehouse DBMS software.

Duties
  • Complete detail responsibility for one or more Data Warehouse sub-systems (e.g., student)
  • Give direction and assistance to other personnel on assigned projects
  • Assist campus departments with their data warehouse-based information needs
  • Provide presentations and support for production systems

Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of data warehouse and business intelligence tools, technologies, architecture, and trends in data and information management
  • Proven ability to leverage extensive expertise in data warehousing and business intelligence to develop 'best in class' strategic vision for data management
  • Proficiency in business analysis, event modeling, data modeling including dimensional modeling, logical and physical database design, database optimization, and load strategy design including transformation, loading and cleansing
  • Extensive knowledge of INFORMATICA, SQL and DB2UDB
  • Ability to think independently to provide solutions and procedures to central administrative databases
  • Proven project leadership ability and experience in directing other technical staff in the development and implementation of complex computerized databases
  • Minimum of six years of successful data warehousing project experience
  • Experience in providing training and support to other technical staff. Strong facilitation, influencing and team consensus-building skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Data Warehouse ETL tools such as Informatica with a minimum of two years required
